I’ve arrived in back at the home of my parents. My tail between my legs and feeling pretty down and pathetic. Poor little ole me – left by my husband – having to return to her hometown and living with her parents.
Well, that’s not quite how it has happened. It has been more riding the pendulum. One side you have the daughter has moved home and her parents are driving her crazy. On the other side, you have the parents being incredible generous.
Are you ready to ride along?
Side 1 - Honey you can have your Mother’s car. She wants a new one anyway.
Side 2 – Since you have the car, you can run all the errands.
Side 1 – We are going to give you money for a down payment.
Side 2 – What do you mean you want to upgrade the laundry area to accommodate the kids?
To say the least, I’m nauseous from swinging from one side to the other. But in the end, I have to say the entire experience has been humbling. And Humble Pie tastes pretty good right now.
Side 1 – I talked to a friend. He wants to see your resume.
Side 2 – You don’t need to worry about a job.
Goal of the Day: Make appointment with bank and unpack 9 suitcases
Guiding Card of the Day: Ask for help
Rant of the Day: Mom, please ask me directly. Please do not be passive-aggressive.
What’s with Adam: I don’t know. He is traveling and I haven’t emailed him. The kids are keeping in touch with him. But, FYI, he didn’t ask them how their report cards ended up. Dad of the Year!
